It has not done him any harm, he is a lovely well behave boy. I don't know if it calmed him down at all really, because he was young any way. My vet recommended getting my Frenchie spayed at 6 months. If you don't intend on breeding her, definitely get it done. I have a friend who had a boxer that she never spayed, at 7 years old, she started to hemmorrage, and the vet thought this was because she was never spayed - not my vet, not my dog, this is just what i was told. Her dog ended up having to be put down. Talk to another vet and get a second opinion if you are concerned that you aren't getting the best advice.
